Concrete Pool Deck Contractors in Denver, CO

Slip-resistant, cool-to-the-touch finishes that turn the space around your pool into a real deck.

A pool deck has two jobs: stay safe under wet feet and stay comfortable under bare ones. We build pool decks with slip-resistant, lighter-colored finishes that don't bake in the Colorado sun.

Stamped, textured or stained, sealed with a grit additive for grip, and sloped to drain water away from the pool and your home.

Finishes built for a pool deck

  • Textured stamped: pattern plus grip
  • Broom or exposed aggregate: naturally slip-resistant
  • Lighter integral colors: stay cooler underfoot
  • Grit-additive sealer: traction where it's wet

Safe, comfortable, low-maintenance

We slope the deck to drain, keep the surface even to avoid trip edges, and seal it so pool chemicals and freeze-thaw don't chew up the finish.

Match your patio and walkways

Carry the same finish into an adjoining patio or walkway for one cohesive backyard.

Why pool decks are harder in Denver than most places

A pool deck here lives through a worse cycle than anything else on the property.

All summer the surface is repeatedly soaked. Splash-out, wet feet and backwash keep the concrete saturated in a way a patio never is. Then winter arrives and that same saturated surface goes through roughly a hundred freeze-thaw cycles, with water sitting in the surface pores expanding about nine percent every time it freezes.

That combination is why pool decks in this market spall years before the patio twenty feet away does. The concrete is not worse. The exposure is.

Two things follow. Drainage has to be right, because any low spot holding standing water going into November will be visibly damaged by March. And sealing is not optional: on a pool deck we would put the interval at the short end of the two to three year range.

Elevation adds the second problem. Sun at 5,280 feet makes surface temperature a genuine comfort issue rather than a minor consideration. A dark deck in an open Denver backyard gets hot enough by mid afternoon that people will not use it barefoot. Light colours stay meaningfully cooler, and that is worth more than any pattern choice.
